Wanted: Classic Car Race & Restoration Technician
As our state-of-the-art restoration facility continues to grow, we're looking to expand our talented team with a skilled and passionate Classic Car Race & Restoration Technician.
Based at our purpose-built headquarters in Bishop's Stortford, Hilton & Moss is home to one of the most comprehensive classic car facilities in the UK. With dedicated departments for panel shaping, paintwork, servicing, restoration, storage, and sales all under one roof, we’re uniquely positioned to deliver exceptional work while offering a supportive and inspiring environment for our team to thrive.
This is an exciting time to join us, as we continue to expand into the world of track day and race car preparation. As part of this development, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and building this area of the business from the ground up, working on everything from race-ready classics to high-performance icons.
You’ll be joining a close-knit team of true automotive experts who are deeply passionate about their craft. We’re looking for someone who shares that same enthusiasm, with a strong work ethic and an unwavering attention to detail.
Candidates should have the following experience, knowledge and competence:
- Detailed experience in the dismantling and rebuilding of classic cars
- Detailed understanding of mechanical components
- Skilled in fault diagnosis of both mechanical and electrical faults
- Competent in carburettor tuning and fault diagnosis
- Competent in completing detailed vehicle inspections
- Independent and efficient working
- Cataloguing displaced parts
- Problem solving and bespoke solutions
- Engine, gearbox and differential rebuilding knowledge welcomed but not essential
- Race team experience is welcome but not essential
Hilton & Moss (www.hiltonandmoss.com) is founded on a pure passion for classic cars performance cars. This new role is based at our 10,000 sq ft workshop facility in Bishop’s Stortford, where comprehensive classic car restorations are carried out along with sports car servicing for Lotus and other sports car brands.
At Hilton & Moss, successful candidates will be working with some of the world's most desirable historic sports and classic cars, such as Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar and Aston Martin, to name a few.
Pay: £40,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
