Hilton & Moss win at Castle Combe
Hilton & Moss joined the Classic Sports Car Club at Castle Combe Circuit for an exciting weekend of racing on the 2nd and 3rd of August, fielding both our Lotus Emira GT4 and Pre-’63 Jaguar E-Type.
Day One – Lotus Emira GT4 Debut
Day one marked the season debut of our Lotus Emira GT4, making its first-ever appearance in the Liqui Moly Slicks Championship. William and Tim qualified P7, an early red flag halting any further charge up the grid. In the race, William took the rolling start, handing over to Tim mid-race after a smooth pit stop. Unfortunately, a mechanical failure from a BMW brought the race to an early end. Despite the interruption, we gained a position overall, finishing P6 and achieving a fantastic P2 in class.
Day Two – Jaguar E-Type in the Classic K Championship
Sunday saw William and Tim back behind the wheel of a more familiar machine: our Pre-’63 Jaguar E-Type in the Classic K Championship. A strong qualifying session, despite a blown tyre on the final lap, secured P1 and pole position. Tim took the start, holding the lead through the first half before handing over to William in a seamless pit stop by the Hilton & Moss team. William rejoined in P2, but a fast-paced Austin Healey 3000 Mk2 in P1 had no signs of slowing down. After an intense battle, we crossed the line P2 overall and P2 in class, our best result of the season so far!
A huge credit goes to the Hilton & Moss Motorsport Support Team for keeping both cars running at their best throughout the weekend. Next stop: Silverstone Festival!
