Hilton & Moss wrap up the race season at Silverstone
On Sunday 19th October, the Hilton & Moss racing team took part in the HMRN Pre-63 GT race with Motor Racing Legends at the iconic Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit. The event brought together an exceptional grid of historic GT cars, each driven with skill and passion in true period spirit.
The day began under promising conditions with a dry and competitive qualifying session. William and Tim pushed the purple E-Type hard from the start, setting strong lap times and placing the car in a good position for the afternoon race. Spirits were high in the paddock as teams prepared for what looked to be an exciting contest.
However, as the afternoon unfolded, the British weather had other plans. Heavy rain swept across the circuit shortly before the race began, transforming Silverstone into a challenging, rain-soaked battleground. With standing water on parts of the track and rapidly deteriorating visibility, conditions tested even the most experienced drivers.
Despite the downpour, William and Tim delivered an outstanding performance, maintaining composure and consistency throughout the race. They navigated the treacherous surface with precision, making calculated moves whilst pushing up the pack.
After a gruelling stint of wet-weather racing, the Hilton & Moss team crossed the line to achieve an impressive P6 overall and P4 in class, another top 10 finish to cap off a successful inaugural season.
The team would like to thank Motor Racing Legends for another brilliantly organised event and all those who braved the rain to support the competitors. The Silverstone GP weekend showcased the best of historic racing, teamwork and determination, values that sit at the heart of Hilton & Moss.
