Hilton & Moss Take to the Track at Donington Park for the Supercar Driver Season Opener

On Tuesday 24th of March, Hilton & Moss were proud to be in attendance at our second Supercar Driver Season Opener at Donington Park, a fantastic event that brings some of the finest supercars in the UK to Donington's iconic race circuit.

This year's event didn’t disappoint. With the track open for racing from 9 am until 4 pm, Hilton & Moss took to the track with a variety of classic and performance cars. Situated in garage 16 towards the end of the Pit Lane, our garage offered a great vantage point to watch all the cars enter the circuit and take the first corner.

The annual Season Opener, hosted by Supercar Driver, is an exclusive members-only event dedicated to the finest road-going supercars ever produced. The event itself was structured as a full track day, with 6 members’ sessions, 3 motorsport sessions and a members’ parade at lunchtime. Each 30-minute session gave drivers the opportunity to fully warm up their machines across Donington's sweeping layout.

Hilton & Moss had the pleasure of supporting and running customers' cars throughout the day. This included a Jaguar XK120 Competition which our motorsport team have been completing some work on over winter to prepare it for the 2026 motorsport season. In addition to this, Hilton & Moss also supported two Semi-Lightweight E-Types, one for a customer running a few laps and the other our own sales car awaiting its next lucky owner.

Our team took each session in their stride, adjusting each car with absolute precision for optimal performance. Hilton & Moss General Manager and lead driver William alongside ex-professional driver Tim Crighton, were on hand to shake down each car out on the circuit and work alongside Hilton & Moss Motorsport Manager, Mark O’Neill. Together they worked to adjust and perfect the performance of each vehicle so that improvements could be made each session.

As well as supporting our customers' cars, the sessions also gave our dedicated motorsport team the chance to shake down Hilton & Moss’s Lotus Emira GT4 ahead of upcoming race events on the calendar, such as the Slicks Series race happening at Donington Park this Sunday, March 29th.

Beyond the action on the circuit, the paddock was a hub of energy with an array of both new and old supercars. From timeless classics to contemporary hypercars, every vehicle present was a spectacle for attendees. Hilton & Moss’s display stand consisted of three sales cars looking for their next owners, a Lotus Exige Cup 430, a fantastic Ford GT40 by CAV (Cape Advanced Vehicles) and a track-ready 1964 Jaguar E-Type Semi-Lightweight. The Lotus Exige Cup 430 and Ford GT40 took to the circuit for the members' parade to demonstrate their speed and power.

Each vehicle on display in the paddocks and surrounding car parks was supported by specialists like Hilton & Moss who work behind the scenes to keep these machines alive and on the road, aiding supercar drivers across the country.

For lucky Supercar Driver members, Hilton & Moss also ran hot laps out in our Lotus Emira GT4, offering a unique insight into the speed and power that can be unleashed when out on track. Skilfully driven by Tim, guests were treated to speeds of up to 180 mph around one of the UK’s most iconic race circuits.

With the first Supercar Driver event of the year now behind us, Hilton & Moss look forward to participating in the Supercar Driver Secret Meet in June, getting out on the track at Silverstone alongside a variety of fantastic vehicles again.

If you were at the Supercar Driver Season Opener, we hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did. If you're interested in preparing your own classic, performance or super car for motorsport, whether for future Supercar Driver events or beyond, our dedicated motorsport team is here to help with all your race and track day preparation. From roll cage installation to inspections, bespoke geometry and corner weight setups, we ensure your car is as capable on circuit as it is striking in the paddock.
