Hilton & Moss Returns to the 1000 Miglia!
For the second consecutive year, Hilton & Moss was proud to return to Italy to support a customer competing in one of the world's most prestigious historic motoring events, the legendary 1000 Miglia. Renowned as "the most beautiful race in the world", the event continues to attract some of the finest historic motor cars ever built, taking competitors on a breathtaking journey through the heart of Italy.
For the 2026 edition, our motorsport team accompanied a very special ex-Works Triumph TR3, ensuring both car and crew were fully supported throughout the five-day adventure. Covering more than 1,000 miles from Brescia to Rome and back again, the event is as much a test of endurance and preparation as it is a celebration of automotive history.
Behind every successful Mille Miglia entry is a dedicated support team. From the moment the event begins, our role is to ensure the car performs faultlessly across every stage. Each morning starts with detailed inspections and routine maintenance before the day's route, checking every component to ensure the Triumph is ready for another demanding day on the road. Throughout the event, our technicians remain on hand to carry out preventative maintenance, adjustments and any repairs required, allowing the driver and co-driver to focus solely on the rally itself.
The Mille Miglia presents a unique challenge unlike any other historic event. Cars must navigate mountain passes, busy towns, open countryside and long liaison sections, often in high temperatures and changing conditions. Reliability is paramount, making thorough preparation and experienced support essential. Our team travelled the entire route alongside the Triumph, providing logistical assistance, technical expertise and complete peace of mind throughout the journey.
The ex-Works Triumph TR3 proved to be a superb companion for the event. Originally developed for international competition, the TR3's lightweight construction, robust engineering and sporting pedigree made it perfectly suited to the demanding Italian roads. Watching the car tackle famous mountain passes, picturesque villages and enthusiastic crowds was a reminder of why these historic machines continue to captivate enthusiasts more than half a century after they were built.
Beyond the competition itself, the Mille Miglia is an experience unlike any other. Thousands of spectators line the route, welcoming competitors into towns and villages with incredible enthusiasm. Every fuel stop, time control and mountain pass becomes an opportunity to share in the rich history of the event, surrounded by some of the world's most significant collector cars.
