Hilton & Moss are delighted to present this beautifully specified exampled manufactured in 1968 and originally delivered to the USA. Being the 280 SL, this car represents the final and most powerful evolution of the celebrated W113 range.

Powered by Mercedes-Benz’s smooth and dependable 2.8-litre inline-six engine and coupled with a refined 4-speed automatic transmission, the 280 SL delivers relaxed performance perfectly suited to both spirited touring and leisurely weekend drives. The W113 was conceived as a sporting grand tourer rather than an outright sports car, and as such it excels in delivering a composed and confidence-inspiring driving experience. Whether traversing continental roads or attending prestigious concours events, the 280 SL offers a unique blend of comfort, style and performance that remains as compelling today as it was over half a century ago.

The car offered today benefits from a fabulous specification. Finished from factory in a two-tone colour way of Papyrus White (DB717G) with Dark Olive (DB291H) hard top and hub caps. The theme is continued on the interior, with an exquisite 134 Dark Green trim and carpet set. A matching Dark Olive soft top completes the aesthetic perfectly.

As a matching numbers example, the car has been subject to a body and mechanical restoration in 2019/2020 ensuring its continued condition for many miles ahead. Additional specification includes retrofit air-conditioning, a Becker Europa II stereo and power steering alongside a rebuilt transmission and engine. A factory data card is also supplied with the car, confirming its matching numbers status.
