Few sports cars capture the essence of lightweight performance quite like the Lotus Elise Series 2. Introduced at the turn of the millennium, the Series 2 refined the original Elise formula while retaining the purity and driver engagement that established the model as one of the most celebrated modern sports cars.

At its core is Lotus’ renowned bonded aluminium chassis, delivering exceptional rigidity while keeping weight to an absolute minimum. Combined with its compact dimensions and perfectly balanced mid-engine layout, the Elise offers an immediacy of response and delicacy of handling that few cars, regardless of price or power, can replicate.

Power comes from the 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine, providing lively performance and an eager character that perfectly suits the car’s lightweight philosophy. With power delivered to the rear wheels through a slick 5-speed manual gearbox, the driving experience is raw, engaging and beautifully analogue, exactly as a Lotus should be.

The Elise we are pleased to present here, was first delivered in April 2002 and has since covered 71,000 miles in the subsequent years. Notably, the car found its most recent owner in December 2006, who has cherished the car since for nearly 20 years!

Finished in wonderful Ruby Red, the car is complemented by a red long-tail soft top and silver 6-spoke wheels. The interior is finished in black leather with a red contrast stitch.

The car features a comprehensive service history over the years, most recently benefiting from a D service by Hangar 111 in March 2026 that included the cam belt and tensioner being replaced, as well as the spark plugs, ensuring the car is ready to be enjoyed immediately by its next owner!

Now widely recognised as a modern classic, the early Series 2 Elise represents one of the purest expressions of the Lotus ethos. Lightweight, communicative and utterly engaging, it remains a benchmark for driver involvement and a car that rewards every mile behind the wheel. A true icon from Lotus Cars, the Elise continues to deliver the same philosophy that has defined the marque for decades.
