The Porsche 911 has long been regarded as the benchmark for the everyday sports car. Effortlessly combining performance, usability and timeless design, each generation has built upon the success of its predecessor while remaining unmistakably true to the iconic silhouette first penned over six decades ago. Introduced in 2015, the 991.2 generation marked an important milestone in the evolution of the 911, with the Carrera range adopting Porsche's new generation of turbocharged flat-six engines. Delivering greater performance, improved efficiency and increased torque throughout the rev range, it represented one of the most significant technological advances in the model's history, whilst retaining the engaging driving experience that has made the 911 one of the world's most celebrated sports cars.

 

Power comes from Porsche's 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, producing 370bhp and 332lb-ft of torque, allowing the Carrera to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 4.4 seconds with the PDK transmission before continuing to a top speed of 183mph. What truly defines the 991.2, however, is the immense flexibility of its powertrain. Instantaneous throttle response, effortless overtaking performance and remarkable refinement combine to create a sports car that is equally rewarding whether driving enthusiastically or simply enjoying a relaxed weekend escape.

 

Inside, the cabin showcases Porsche's renowned build quality, with premium materials, beautifully engineered switchgear and a driver-focused cockpit that has become synonymous with the 911. The introduction of Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with its intuitive touchscreen interface, combined with a refined interior layout and excellent ergonomics, ensures the Carrera feels every bit as modern today as it did upon launch.
